A magnesium deficiency may be the answer to your most mysterious health problems!

I love learning about how different vitamins and minerals effect the body.

Our bodies are much more complicated than we often realize. They are meticulously organized and complex systems that require certain parts and processes to be in place in order to function properly. It is easy to take it for granted!

Magnesium is one of those magical chemical elements that the body needs to function properly – and studies have shown that the majority of us are deficient in it. As our society has advanced and changed, so has our diets. Refined foods don’t supply a lot of vitamins and minerals, and the damage done to our digestive systems make it difficult for many of us to absorb what is provided through our diets.

Long story short, this has had an effect on the amount of magnesium we take in, and our ability to retain it.

But it’s a NEED for our bodies! Magnesium aids in:

  • Digestion
  • Energy
  • Neurotransmitter Precursor
  • Transport of Calcium

The list of effects that a magnesium deficiency can have on your body is actually quite astounding! You never know: a magnesium deficiency may be the simple answer to explain some of your most mysterious health problems!

Symptoms include:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Fatigue
  • Diabetes
  • Gastrointestinal Disturbances
  • Insomnia
  • Migraines
  • Hypoglycemia
  • Liver Disease
  • Kidney Disease
  • Heart Disease
  • Osteoporosis
  • Tooth Decay

It’s wild to me to think that so many of us could be deficient in it and not even know it. I also noticed in my research that magnesium deficiency is hard to test for, as most of the body’s magnesium is stored in the tissue and organs.

My solution? Use your intuition! If you’re having any combination of these symptoms, try adding a good quality magnesium supplement in your wellness routine. If you notice a change, this could have been something affecting you.

As a person with anxiety, I am  ‘obsessed’ with uncovering the small ways in which I can help myself. For me, adding a couple of magnesium capsules per day has definitely made a positive difference. I notice after a few days without it, I do have a tendency to feel more ‘down’ or anxious.

Magnesium deficiency seems to be the hidden culprit behind a lot of ailments – so do your research and small self experiments if you think it might help you out!

Hey fellow Canadian! :). So this is cool timing. Magnesium was never a mineral I thought too much about, until recently when I started hearing more and more about it. I started doing more research and just asked for some supplements for Christmas. I’m looking forward to researching a bit more and seeing if/how it helps me. Thanks for this!!
