30 Days of Nicecream – Days 19-24

Hello everyone!

What’s going on in your guys’ world? I love this time of year. The leaves are falling, it’s getting crisp outside, and all I want to do is cuddle up and have tea with my loved ones.

But who am I kidding? I wasn’t made for the ‘lax’ lifestyle. The more I learn about myself, the more I realize I love doing stuff. Exploring. Venturing. Being about. Getting out there.

It’s a bit of a juxtaposition because I am also, by nature, very slow. So I am a busy bee who buzzes around slowly? That might be the perfect way of describing me.

This is my second last Nicecream post. Because my schedule has been so busy lately, I am thinking of going to weekly recipes – like Toast Tuesdays or Pizza Sundays or something like that. Any requests from my readers?

Day 19 – ‘Iron Vegan’

Historically I am not the biggest veggie protein fan. It’s a textural thing. Admit it: most of them are so gritty! But when I saw this blend I decided to get a sample and give it a try. Thank the lord because BEST. VEG. PROTEIN. EVER. It made this nicecream taste just like cake.Bonus points because the texture is smooth! If you see it, try it!

Ingredients

  • 2 large frozen bananas
  • ~1/2 cup of almond milk
  • 1 serving Iron Vegan protein
  • Pumpkin seeds and coconut shreds for topping

Directions: Blend bananas, almond milk, and protein. Add toppings and enjoy!

Day 20 – Banana Caramel

From a holistic nutrition  standpoint, this nicecream is naughty. Let me explain… I used Walden Farms Caramel Syrup. I love their caramel syrup. It is really popular in the fitness community here because it is nearly zero calories – so low cal they don’t even count!

That being said… it’s a feat that’s impossible to achieve naturally. So it’s chemically. There, I said it. We all have our vices, I think it’s okay as a treat every once in a while!

Ingredients

  • 2 large frozen bananas
  • ~1/2 cup of almond milk
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla
  • 2 TBSP Walden Farms Caramel Syrup
  • Fresh banana and hemp seeds for topping

Directions: Blend bananas, almond milk, and vanilla. Add caramel syrup, fresh banana, and hemp seeds on top. Enjoy!

Day 21 – Orange Vanilla Cream

A lot of these banana icecreams have brought me back to my childhood, like this one for example. It reminds me of the Creamsicles I used to get during junior high lunch break for 50 cents. I also love this nicecream for it’s beautiful simplicity. Don’t forget to blend your orange with the peel on! Tons of nutrients in there that you don’t want to miss out on.

Ingredients

  • 2 Large Frozen Bananas
  • ~1/2 cup of almond milk
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 orange (with peel on)
  • Slice of orange and hemp seeds for topping

Directions: Blend bananas, almond milk, vanilla, and half orange. Add toppings and enjoy!

Day 22- Double Chocolate Dream

I can’t even. I mean, just look at this. This is not your regular chocolate treat either. Check the ingredients list to see what I mean – this packs some serious flavour!

Ingredients

  • 2 Large Frozen Bananas
  • ~1/2 cup of coconut milk
  • 1/4 tsp Ceylon cinnamon
  • dash of cayenne and himilayan sea salt
  • 2 TBSP cacao powder
  • 2 TBSP melted coconut oil
  • Hemp seeds for topping

Directions: Mix melted coconut oil and 1 TBSP of cacao powder. Set mixture aside. Blend bananas, almond milk, cinnamon, cayenne, sea salt, and remaining 1 TBSP of cacao powder. Put blended nicecream in a bowl and top with the coconut oil/cacao powder mixture. Add hemp seeds on top. Enjoy!

Day 23 – Rabbit Food

This is reminiscent of something a loving mom would create to sneak veggies to her kids. Of course, she would also have come up with a cool name like “Rabbit Food” to really sell it to them. As a kid I never needed that though; I always loved my veggies growing up and I still do today!

Ingredients

  • 2 large frozen bananas
  • ~1/2 cup of almond milk
  • 1 large carrot, diced
  • 1/4 TSP Ceylon cinnamon
  • Raw pumpkin seeds and coconut shreds for topping

Directions: Blend bananas, almond milk, carrot, and cinnamon. Top with pumpkin seeds and coconut shreds. Enjoy!

Day 24 – ‘Kale Kick Start’

Here in Calgary we have a really popular smoothie joint called ‘Jugo Juice’ , and they make a blend that is very similar to this one. I always loved it and had been wanting to recreate something similar at home! The pineapple gives this beauty the sweetest taste, but it’s also creamy from the almond milk and textured by the kale. 100% will make again.

Ingredients

  • 1 large frozen banana
  • 1 cup frozen pineapple
  • 1 cup shredded kale
  • ~1/2 cup of almond milk
  • 1 tsp chlorella
  • Coconut shreds for topping

Directions: Blend banana, pineapple, kale, chlorella, and almond milk. Add coconut shreds on top, and voila! Enjoy!

Only one last nicecream post to go! I want to say it will be “bittersweet” ,  but I think it’s just going to be sweet.

Thanks for stopping by!
